Preben Harris (born March 30, 1935) is an award winning Danish actor theatre director trained at Aarhus Theatre School. In 1958 he was one of the founders of the experimental stage at Aarhus Theatre and in 1963 the Svalegangen Theatre – also in Aarhus. From 1967 – 1971 he was managing director of the Gladsaxe Theatre in Copenhagen and from 1971-2001 at the Folketeatret in Copenhagen. He has directed a wide range of theatrical works and has also written and adapted several plays and musicals. He’s been knighted (1st Degree) by the Queen of Denmark.
