2-act retelling of the old, but charming French story by Henri Meilhac & Albert Millaud. The tempo has been increased and some scenes have changed, but in the center is still the meeting between the nunnery and the daring theater life, personified by the cheerful Nitouche and the charming Celestin/Floridor! In addition to the love story between Nitouche and her chosen Lieutenant Champlatreux, the play is full of side stories and funny characters such as the choleric major and theater diva Corinna. This version also features a theater director who turns out to have a shared past with the prioress of the nunnery.
