Till and Bettina, two elderly actors, rehearse their old parts as they’ve been doing it every evening over the past 30 years. They’ve already begun as the door bell rings: In the door stands the young student, Sabine, who’s interested in a room that Bettina have announced that she wants to rent out. She moves in immediately even though the room has been reserved for the physicist Wolf and even if Till is also interested in it. Bettina explains Till, that she can’t rent him the room as she was once in a relationship with his brother, Tom and still stands between them. Till won’t wait any longer and reacts: He plays his brother, Tom very lively with all of his egoism and vanity. In the room next door a fight between Wolf and Sabina about the ownership of the room is building up. Wolf and Till (alias Tom) slowly gets in control: Bettina realizes her relationship with Till and Sabine takes her defeat. Did it work between her and Wolf?
