Orchestra: 4 Woodwinds – 3 Trumpets – 2 Trombones – 1 French Horn – 6 Violins – 1 Bass – 2 Keyboards – 1 Harp – 1 Guitar – 1 Drums – 1 Percussion "Side Show" is inspired by and tells the story about the two conjoined twins and varité-stars, Daisy and Violet Hilton, who lived during the depression in the 30’s. They became world famous in the movies “Chained for life” and “Freaks”, which were censored for containg too harsh scenes. A Varité owner introduces freaks in his shows and the twins are his starts. Buddy Foster, a promising musician, invites the talent scout, Terrry Connor, to see the girls in order to help their carrier. The varitéowner turns down the offer, in fear of losing his ‘golden girls’, and the girls’ protector, Cannibal King, asks them to stay in his show. The musical is a fascinating mix of traditional Broadway and contemporary sensitivity.
