Samson and Roberto are the heroes behind a series of children’s books by the award winning Norwegian author Ingvar Ambjørnsen, who also wrote the novel BRØDRE I BLODET (1996), which has been adapted for stage by Axel Hellstenius with the title ELLING. Samson – a loving , somewhat naive dog – and Roberto – a courageous cat – live in a slum district in the outskirts of a city. They have a very close friendship, but both are constantly hungry. Suddenly Roberto inherits a scary ramshackle boarding house, soon to be renovated with the help of the friends. This wonderful children’s play was a great success at Oslo Nye Teater in 2003, and subsequently toured in Norway with Riksteatret.
