The play takes action in an unnamed Latin-American country, where a prisoner might be the resurrected Jesus. It is said that he can do miracles and walk through walls, which is a huge problem for the prison guards. When his popularity rises amongst the country’s depleted inhabitants, the dictator decides that the prisoner is to be crucified. This creates a lot of moral dilemmas… Opened at Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis in 2002.
