RAIN SONATA 3 F / 2 M Radio theatre This is a story of two musicians, a female pianist and a male violinist, who are practicing Brahms’ Sonata for violin and piano Op 78. They have more in common than just the music as certain confused feelings are involved, love or just attraction – or maybe nothing at all. The two characters move from something warm to something cold, from a hope of realizing a kind of love or the doubt and denial of a cool, professional working relationship. The fact that the characters do not know at all how to express themselves in order to be understood by the other person is central to the conflict of the play. The two adult voices are mirrored by two children’s voices, a girl and a boy who are expressing a longing for happiness and human understanding.
