A dystrophic play about the dreariness of living in luxury: Karl Sonnenschein lives in a gated community together with his wife and adolescent son. She suffers from problems with sleeping – a fundamental fear of him losing his job, so they are forced to leave the area that constitutes their social ambition. While she speaks of material goods and the security of living in a gated community, he discloses his irreparable loneliness. They haven’t got any friend, their circle of acquaintances consist of the people they meet by chance; at barbeques, coaching seminars, yoga, pilates or at the literary club, where they can write stories to each other. First performance at Schaubühne, 2007.
