The play is a dialogue between David, The Duke of Windsor, and his wife Wallis Simpson, and takes place during the second World War. Seven years after David's abdication they now live on the Bahamas, but their money is starting to run out and the couple looks for a way to regain their fortune. They hide from the publicity as their acquaintance with high ranked Nazi leaders, such as Hitler himself, is negatively judged in their homeland, Great Britain. The Duke has nothing against living the way they do, as long as he’s together with his beloved wife. But Wallis likes the upper class life with pearls and diamonds, and she would very much like to get back her title as ”Her Royal Highness”.
