In this warm comedy, Elling lives alone in the flat he was given by the local authorities. Kjell Bjarne has moved in with Reidun Nordsletten and has gotten a job in a supermarket. Elling works hard. However, his life revolves around a woman. He has met the ideal woman at a hot-dog stand. Her interests are UFO-literature and stories about persons who are abducted by people who are not from planet earth. Elling’s imagination runs wild after the encounter with the young woman and her interests. The situation doesn’t exactly become less complicated when Kjell Bjarne is thrown out of the Reidun Nordsletten and moves in with Elling again, nor by Frank Åsli from Oslo’s requirements.
