This highly praised play, takes place in Salford, England in 1970 just before the war between India and Pakistan. We follow the Anglo-Pakistanis Khan family that consists of one daughter and six sons. However, one of the sons has left the family refusing to abide to its demand for the traditionally arranged marriages. Now once more, the family is confronted with the dilemma when the Father wishes to marry two of his sons to the daughters of an influential Pakistan family. This moving family drama touches on many ethnic, cultural, psychological and common human aspects. Furthermore it has most successfully been made into a film.
