Ayub Khan-Din

Ayub Khan-Din (b. 1961) is a British playwright and actor, born in Salford, Lancashire, England. His father is British Pakistani and his mother is white British. As an actor, Khan-Din is best-known for the role of Sammy in Hanif Kureishi's “Sammy and Rosie Get Laid” (1987). He is also an award-winning playwright, best known for “East is East”, which was also released as a film in 1999, starring Om Puri. In the early 1990s, he starred in Idiot. His latest work, the play “Rafta, Rafta...”, is a comic adaptation of “All in Good Time”, in which the story of a northern working class family in the 1960s is transposed to a contemporary Asian family.
