Pieter Hilhorst

Pieter Hilhorst, born 1966, took a degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam, and is now working as an essayist and dramatist. In addition, he works as a reporter for the popular Dutch daily, De Volkskrant, for Dutch television as well as radio. He had his debut as dramatist in 1997 with the radio play THE UNMAKING OF KATJA S. which was followed by LANDGOED (ESTATE) in 2001. The latter concerning a meeting between Ian Smith, Mobutu and Gandhi. Subsequently he has written HETZE (HATE CAMPAIGN), the historical drama, AFSTAMMELINGEN (DESCENDANTS) and lastly STEMVEE (VOTING CATTLE) which had its opening in 2003.
