Johan Gille is an actor, director, and playwright who has written around 50 plays. He has a background as a theater manager at Astrid Lindgren’s World and has been running Lerbäcks Teater with his wife since 2004. He has written numerous crime dramas for the stage and over 10 farces, all of which have played to sold-out audiences at Lerbäcks Teater. Johan Gille has adapted virtually all of Astrid Lindgren’s books, which have been performed in both professional settings and schools throughout the Nordic region. In 2024, there will be a world premiere of his adaptation of “A Love Story – Samuel August from Sevedstorp & Hanna in Hult,” which is Astrid Lindgren’s tale of her parents’ love story. In working on this production, he has collaborated with Georg Riedel, who has composed new music.
