Hávar Sigurjónsson graduated from Manchester University Drama Department with a BA honours degree in 1982 and he did his Masters in Theatre Arts at Leeds University Workshop Theatre in 1983. Since 1983 he has worked professionally in Iceland as a stage director, writer, translator and journalist. From 1992-1997 he was attached to the National Theatre of Iceland as a stage director and dramaturge. Since 1997 he has worked as a free lance writer and cultural journalist on the largest daily newspaper of Iceland: Morgunbladid.
