The Danish playwright Julie Maj Jakobsen has received the Allen Award 2021.
Julie Maj Jakobsen (b. 1982) gratuated from The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2010 and has since then become a strong voice in Danish theatre. She received the prestigious Reumert Talent Award in 2012 for the play FORSAMLINGSHUSET (THE LOCAL HALL) and was nominated at the Reumert Awards for Best Playwright in 2013 for FUCKING FATTIG (FUCKING POOR). In 2018 she won the Reumert prize as playwright of the year for AFTENLANDET (GET IN), which was first performed at Aalborg Theatre (Denmark) and has been sold for production in Germany.
