"Veterans", based on his experience of co-writing the film 'The Charge of the Light Brigade', about the poor state of the British Army's leadership during the Crimean War, as witnessed by a relatively competent officer, Captain Louis Nolan, is one of Charles Wood’s major contributions to British drama. Sir John Gielgud and Sir John Mills led the cast when it was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre.
