James Broom Lynne – dramatist – child of the experimental British theatre – conquered London with this his first play. The tactical preparations for the conquest can be ascribed to Pinter and Saunders, but he himself has also contributed considerably. An open scenic imagination free of theatrical speculation, a realistic observation in the multiplicity of meanings and an engagement beneath the harshness. The story - which does not really matter – the triangle with two male and one female component which does not become a drama without a series of stressful situations with preventive intervention through a fourth character allows for a wide range of grotesque black humour of a high calibre within the conventional theatre.
