In SYGTSUND we meet the young girl Emilie, who flushes her fat out in the toilet, skips for dear life and starves for five days so she can be ‘perfect’ for her confirmation party. Emilie’s mother, Annette, is working all the time and always has her mobile phone in her hand. However, the thing is that Annette no longer can feel his hand. She has to schedule a time at the hospital, but she has no time for that time. Emilie’s father, Jens, is a stressed librarian who is mousy inside out and is so frustrated with having to keep the family together that he is secretly smoking and decides to seek refuge in the top of a birch tree with a group of smokers.
SYGTSUND is an absurd and dead serious comedy for young people and adults about strip fitness, fear of death, miracles, kiss, calories and a family’s struggle to live healthily and happily to the end of their lives.
