The authors refer to this work as an anti-aesthetic musical. It is about The Ugly One, who has neither a job nor friends or love, who creeps along the walls in the dark to avoid being seen, degraded or mocked. It also introduces Samuel, who has everything The Ugly One lacks; fame, beauty and money. Samuel is a TV-host, rock musician and writer: He receives film awards and scores all the women. The only thing Samuel misses is love. After The Ugly One has lost her first flirt to her only friend, and has learned that a plastic operation will cost her billions, she decides to kill all beautiful and perfect people. She works systematically, and kills movie stars, football players and other successful, beautiful people. One day it is Samuel’s turn, and something unforeseen happens… This is a mad farce full of music, comedy and pain, and it comments on the entertainment industry’s ideal of beauty and constant entertainment. It is a tragic story about an ugly girl who tries to survive in a world where the tyranny of the aesthetic and the body-fixated culture rules.
