In this play, a bar serves as the gathering point for a group of wandering characters, who have had a hard run in life, though nevertheless have managed to maintain a portion of human dignity. Loneliness and despair are the main ingredients in their daily desperate survival, though occasionally they find warmth and friendliness in the hands of strangers, which in ways offer them some comfort.
