In this play we follow Pauline who has gone away for the weekend with two old school friends, Lauren and Jackie, to celebrate her 40th birthday at a holiday resort. There they feast on vodka and pop nostalgia from the 1970’ies, seemingly an inane decade compared to the protesting 60’ies and the Thatcher 80’ies. This is all revealed most satirically in the avalanche of vulgar and spiritless conversations that pass between the three friends. The author shows no mercy when portraying her contemporary sisters.
