The film producer Hector brings us into an airtight, claustrophobic world. Hector has money, success and a beautiful daughter but seen through his raw sensitivity, the world is a threatening place. This is also the fact during his stay in Hotel D’Angleterre in Copenhagen, with his assistant Tom, the replica (robot), where he is going to present his newest film. Always he feels like an outsider and even though he strives for friendship and intimacy with others it is as if he is destined to be alone. The writer Morti Vizki wrote that we all recognise ourselves in Hector’s actions. As human beings we have all at some point felt detained in the same hollow existence. And we have all known a Tom - a strong and uncomplicated person who has it all and whose attention makes us feel special. More importantly is that we recognise the warmth obtained with this attention but also know the icy feeling of losing it.
