This is a play about George Crane, who is a columnist at a weekly paper. He is somewhat tired of just writing short and brief articles, not to mention the mingling with all the alcoholic journalists and artists of Greenwich Village. Therefore he has decided to move further out near the ocean with his wife and two children in order to write a book. However, before long his family get bored and friends from town appear, trying to persuade him to return to the city. Then a hurricane threatens from the South and simultaneously while raging, George’s life goes all topsy turvy. Though in the end, everything falls into place. The play is packed with wonderfully bizarre and finely drawn characters and the dialog is fast and sophisticated.
