On Hitler’s birthday, a mother, who is a dolled up worshipper of Hitler, visits her single daughter. The dominant woman suppresses her reserved daughter with gifts and humiliation. Unexpectedly, an acquaintance of the daughter shows up. He is a younger man whom the mother swiftly monopolises. A grotesque erotic wrangle emerges. It brings up wild potency fantasies and a verbal “Blood und Floor” ecstasy in the man, which makes him raping the mother. The play ends with a verbal power struggle between generations and gender. Jonigk attacks the family as the stronghold of neo-fascism. He expresses his contempt for the right-wing radical petite bourgeoisie and the lurking brutality in the apparent family idyll with perverted black humour. The play was produced at the Volksbühne in Berlin as well as in other places. It has been translated into Swedish too.
