Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare’s most staged plays and the world known story about the two lovers has inspired many artists. The relationship between Romeo and Juliet is synonym with a swallowing, young love that grabs hold on everything on its way without taking notice of reason and obligations. Christian Lollike has adapted the classical text and has written a love story, which is both loyal to Shakespeare’s plot and told in a modern style. The result is a raw and unsentimental version of the original love story. The play can be staged with or without music and the associated songs. The play premiered at Aarhus Theatre in 2010.
