This fantastic 1975 play, has been described as a mysterious-political play. The main character is holed up in a hotel in Texas after the Kennedy assassination. Whether she is sane or crazy is left up in the air. She claims to have certain papers proving who is behind the assassination, and is being followed by the Red Devil Battery company. With a mystical love affair, a Mariachi band, a conspiracy theory and a pack of violent boys, this is one of Williams’ rather surreal plays. Red Devil is slang for a heavily sedative drug.
