REBECCA is a German musical based on the novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier.
The musical is written by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay, the authors of the musicals ELISABETH, MOZART og MARIE ANTOINETTE, and had its worldpremiere at September 28, 2006 at Reimund Theater in Vienna.

The plot, which adheres closely to the original novel, revolves around Maxim DeWinter, his new wife, and Mrs. Danvers, the housekeeper of DeWinter’s estate Manderley who resents the young woman’s intrusion into the world she shared with the first Mrs. DeWinter, the glamorous and mysterious Rebecca, who died in a drowning accident.

The music ranges from powerful choral song with a rising rhythm section from the pit to power ballads.
