At a retreat for elderly, former opera singers, one finds Wilfred, Reggie and Cecily who unfortunately have gone slightly senile and often loose contact with reality. Wilfred is mainly talking about sex while Reginald is busy trying to keep up appearances. However, all three somehow manage to fulfil their plan to celebrate the late composer Verdi’s birthday, by arranging a concert. Though before the great performance, Jean moves in. She is known to have had many husbands and among them Reginald, though their acquaintance only lasted for nine hours. Reluctantly, she is persuaded to join in on the concert preparations, which all turn out rather surprisingly.
It is an unusually successful comedy, written for ‘star’ actors.
