The main character in this exciting and well-crafted German rock musical is based on the father of horror literature, Edgar Allan Poe. In seven images following the most legendary stories of Poe, a story about a fateful pact with the devil takes form: Poe, whose horrific obsessions drive him insane, is promised deliverance by the secretive Dr. Pilatus – inside whom, none other than the devil resides. All he has to do is to let the awfully unimaginative devil have his gruesome scenarios, and consequently he will at long last feel in peace with himself. Poe accepts, but suddenly he finds himself in the middle of an unexpected flood of real-life fantasies. Being both the creator and the victim of his own ravings, he attempts to repair all what now seems impossible to mend. His visions will not find its way back between the bindings of the books as originally intended, once they have been let out into reality once and for all. Only the victim himself can stop this vicious circle.
