The former orphan and drug addict, Constant, is starting a new life working as a chef at the high school cafeteria in the small American city, Grand Rapids. Being a former student at the school, she finds a purpose of life in feeding the 800 hungry mouths with good food, made with love. Soon Constant’s big heart and compassion is known to everybody at the school, where she heals heartaches aa well as filling the empty stomachs. After a school prom, she ends up at the back seat at the married math teacher, Tom’s, car. Just as she has found out that she is pregnant, she’s fired due to cut-backs. And when Tom doesn’t admit the paternity, Constant snaps and a fatal downfall begins. A downfall that puts the backside of the Land of the Free at display, where even the purest intentions can lead to a death sentence.
