A play about the American political hedge against homosexuality and communism during the 1950’s (The Mccarthy period). The story follows the Constant family living in Langley Springs a small fictional American town. It’s Mrs Constant’s birthday and the family is gathered to celebrate her. Her son, Arnie, is flirting with communistic reading and when his uptight sister, Caryl, finds out, hell breaks loose. The situation escalates even further when it turns out that their brother, Don, isn’t dead in the Korean War after all and is coming home, just in time for the whole family to be met by a federal investigator from the FBI and finding out that Arnie is gay...
