An alcoholic patriarch is dying, and the nearest family has gathered on his last day. Sister and brother, Carol and Bobbie, who have grown further and further apart throughout the years, are faced with each other. The reunion quickly reopens old psychological wounds, and reveals tremendous pain from a troubled childhood. The sister has endeavoured intense soul-searching based on therapy, health foods and education. In contrast, the brother has submerged into a deep void of despair, alcoholism and crime. This is a verbal tug-of-war, which conclusively forces the brother to open up and tell us why he has given up on life. Their father may be dying – but Bobbie is already dead!
