This play takes place in a tacky guest house on the West coast of Mexico. It tells the story of four outsiders, their helplessness and lacking ability to break free of their restraints. The play is painfully honest, though it clearly shows compassion and respect for those who have to fight a little extra just in order to obtain a little dignity in life. Additionally, the ugly lizard that is kept encaged below the porch is a symbol of those who are caught by the world’s cruelty – humans are grim creatures but nevertheless, everybody deserves the right to individual freedom.
