Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart probably needs no introduction, so instead allow us to introduce the musical MOZART written by the successful duo Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay. In the fabulous musical, we follow Mozart’s life from his birth 1756 to his death 1791. There are many interpretations on the life of Mozart, and the narrative ankle Michael Kunze has chosen, is as subjective as most of the other tales of Mozart – not to mention Milos Forman’s popular film AMADEUS – but only to insist on the fact that the complex character of Mozart still fascinates us, and that the truth about him is multifarious. The music for the show is composed by Sylvester Levay, and is simply magnificent. The renowned German magazine “Musicals” celebrated MOZART as the best musical of the year December 2000. It won awards for best CD, staging and set design and has to this date been seen by more than one million people.
