This is a farce about George and Charlotte Hay, who are both B-actors and daily cause havoc, both on stage and behind, at a provincial theatre, where they perform ‘Private Life’ and ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’.
Then one day, rumour has it that a famous producer will attend the evening’s show and that totally puts George in a right state, as he sincerely hopes that the producer will have a job for him. However, chaos soon reigns and effectively everything falls to pieces.
