This play is put together by three monologues about the ‘case’ Molly Sweeney, who has almost lost her sight due to and eye-illness. Her husband then persuades her to undertake an operation. The operation is completed successfully, even though to Molly Sweeney, it holds disastrous consequences.
It is a brilliant play that has resemblances to Friel’s previous play, FAITH HEALER and the two titles can easily be put up together.
