This celebrated and humane comedy by Beaumarchais takes place on one
mad day when the valet Figaro keeps trying to marry the maid Suzanne
despite all obstacles. This is one of the great plays of the 18th Century and of
course the basis for Mozart's opera. This translation was commissioned and
first performed by Lighthouse for The State Theatre Company of South
Australia in 1984.
