One day Måvens’ phone rings. At the other end it is someone, who also calls himself Måvens. He rings to say that he is a new and better edition and therefore he believes that the old Måvens ought to end his days. Somehow Måvens makes sense of this, but before he manages to finish his suicide note, his good friend Peder arrives, persuading him to stay a little longer. Then at a restaurant they come across the new Måvens and deeply mystified, they decide to follow him. The pursuit takes them to Måvenstrup where Måvens and his friend Peder hang out. As it turns out, they are rich and successful but not completely without dodgy edges.
