This musical dramatisation of Gustav Wied’s novel is very true to the original and the whole well-known gallery of persons is in it: Knagsted, menneske mortensen, Mor Karen and Tummelumsen. Adam & James Price have in contrast to the idyllic serial TV story created a bitter-sweet, social satirical musical that draws on the humour. For example with the main character who with his tragicomic heroic destiny in his own lopsided way tries to manage the difficulties of life.
