„Der Börsenkurs ist gefallen, weh, weh, weh!“ The global business world has collapsed, and Jelinek has translated the crisis into a suggestive wordplay – a farce based on the real scandals which have been taking place during the past few years. The play focuses on the catastrophic speculation-rage of the financial world. The players are the arrogant large shareholders and the dishonest little investors. It’s all about greed and the desire to play with the big boys in order to become even bigger. This is an artistic distortion, an angry and (self-) ironic play in which there are no innocent parties. Premiered in cooperation with Thalia Theater Hamburg and Schauspiel Köln, 2009.
