Once upon a time – in a time so far far away that no one remembers it anymore – a King lived in his castle. Even though the King was a true fairy-tale-king, the royal family wasn’t rich. They had been at war with a neighbouring country of Montania, and warfare isn’t cheap!
The King wants to make peace, but Montania wants the King’s weight in gold in return, and the fat King cannot afford that at all. He tries to go on a diet, but doesn’t succeed. The only alternative road to peace is by marrying his daughter to the Prince of Montania. The princess is heartbroken but asks her maid, Sibbe, Valentin the Hunter and the castle goblins for help to find enough gold to safe her from marrying the prince and to regain the Christmas spirit.
