Jonas, Nanna and Ida are swimmers. They swim before and after school with and without their parents on the side. They have faith in their hearts, are (un)happy in love, young, wild and wet. They are full of will and dream of ‘going all the way’, but when their coach mentions the word gold medal, the pressure begins to rise and it becomes harder and harder for the three of them to breathe beyond the surface. JEG MIG FUCK DIG is a play about pressure and performance anxiety. About trying to live up to one’s own and other’s expectations: parents, school, surroundings, oneself, one’s body and one’s future. It’s a play about being seen, being loved, being sexual active, being better and being the best (or wishing to be). About wanting to succeed and punishing yourself, when you don’t. About ruining it for everyone, when you ruin it for yourself. About holding your breath under water, while hoping for the best.
