MY NAME IS SUSAN is a life-affirming story about four women and their strong and loving friendship. As Susan at age 55 are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, her friends gather around her until her death. It gives them an opportunity to reflect on the life lived and the choices they have made and through laughter and tears, Susan’s tragedy changes them all.
The play’s action centres on the emotions and the situations that arise, when Susan is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As the play progresses her friends try to evoke and maintain the highlights of Susan’s and their own lives, just like the girls are trying to take over Susan’s life with all the “last minute things” she simply must do, before it’s too late.
