This is a riddling and existential play based on Ingvar Ambjørnsen’s novel with the same title. The play’s main character is the wealthy estate magnate Thomas Mader who has had enough, and decides to wind up his empire. Nothing captures his interest; Conversations are trivial and business is empty routine. His relationship to his wife is impersonal and decadent, and he shows no mercy inthe rejection of his son. But then, for no apparent reason, he begins to send cash-presents to a randomly selected single mother and her son, as he wants to start over again. He moves into the city and circles the park. However, Innocentia Park is infected with a disease. The mighty chestnut trees are eaten by maggots and one day a little boy disappears.
