Middle-aged couple Gil and Joyce live their suburban life with no other problems than their on-going nagging. Their son, Kenny, reaches out to them for guidance and help, bringing them the news of his wife's complicated pregnancy, but finds he’s merely placed between a mother who refuses to have her well-manicured world disturbed, and a father whose emotions rule his thinking. With the arrival of the in-laws, Gil and Joyce, the facades of insincere pleasantries soon turn into a full-blown cocktail of opinions and emotions, along with the breaking down of walls and masks between the grandparents-to-be.
