In just one day, an unlucky EU-parliamentarian named Philip Wardrope will attempt to win the spot as the European Parliament’s president, whilst his lustful and expectant girlfriend has announced her arrival in Strasbourg. Assisting him in all this is his illegal Russian secretary and an elderly, alcoholic member of the parliament. Meanwhile, an amorous, female French parliamentarian and a feminist interfere. Afterwards, her German counterpart comes in and makes the situation even more precarious than Philip. Finally, a raging Turkish lobbyist enters, hunting down the amorous French woman who Philip at the time decides to marry for career reasons. This decision involves the entrance of the archbishop, whilst a secret agent from the department of internal affairs is listening in, from inside the closet. A hilarious farce about EU, which premiered at the Hampstead Theatre, London in 2007.
