This is a dramatization of Dostoevsky’s novel, the greatest of all Russian novels. Copeau with his good sense of dramatic effect brings about a variety of scenic expressions based on thoughts and episodes of the work. From time to time the action becomes pure “psychological thriller”, but Dostoevsky’s message of Christian mystery appears as the leading topic throughout the entire play
