Drama in two acts
1 Set
This is a naturalistic drama about the isolated existence of a farmer’s family. The pig-headed and drunken father is tyrannizing his wife and three daughters, who seek in vain to change their monotonous lives through higher education. The climax of the drama is a welcome-party in favour of the unexpected return of the son. The party never takes place because the son realizes that he will never receive any understanding for his effort from the family.
