The vibe in Moodysson’s latest film is disgust, hatred, desperation and degradation. The film continues on the same track as his previous film, the upsetting LILJA 4-EVER about the forced prostitute Lilja. Simultaneously, it competes with films such as “Saló o los 120 días de Sodoma” and “Itchi the killer” for being the most repulsive films in film history. It is a strange story about friendship, moral and reality-TV: Rockard and his son Eric live in a fatigued suburban neighbourhood somewhere in Sweden. Rickard spends his time taping amateur porn with the wannabe Tess and the friend Gecko. As the three become increasingly drunk, they lose the few limits they do have and their behaviour becomes more and more barrier-breaking. In the next door room, Eric attempts to escape from reality in his own way – sometimes with the company of Tess – and despite of all the hideousness, a kind of bizarre friendship emerges between these two ruined souls. “[…] without competition the most disturbing Scandinavian film in years.” – Berlingske Tidende.
